Paintball is the fastest growing fun sport in the world. Traditionally paintball is played in a forest where players are divided into two teams and they battle to defend and attack positions in game areas with different scenarios. Each player is issued with a camouflage suit, protective facemask and goggles a padded hood and a paintball marker (gun), which fires a coloured paint pellet.
- Do I have to be physically fit?
Not at all! Average physical fitness is sufficient. Perspiration and a few aching muscles will occur! There are breaks between games. Each player will find his / her own level of participation be it all out action or a little more laid back!
The objective of the game is to win each 'mission' but only by compliance with the strict safety codes of practice, which do not allow shots that are too close. The paint pellets break on impact and there may be a stinging sensation for a short period.
- What age do you have to be?
Twelve years and over. We cater for student games (15 to 18 years) on weekdays only. These are always kept separate to adult games for everyone's enjoyment.
Safety standards and observance have the highest priority when running paintball games at Deltaforce Paintball. Any person, who breaches the safety standards or refuses to comply with an instruction from a marshal, is removed from the game area.
- Is Deltaforce covered by insurance?
Deltaforce Paintball has full public liability insurance and a certificate is available to fax or post on request.
- What about first aid if required?
Three members of Deltaforce staff have completed first aid courses so there is always someone who can help if required. It must be remembered that Deltaforce has a second to none safety record and very little treatment if any is ever required.
- How long does it take to play?
Four 1/2 Hours its really a day out.
Wear clothing suitable for outdoors adventures i.e. a tracksuit or something old that you wont worry too much about. Wear old, sturdy footwear and bring a spare pair to change into afterwards.
- What clothing is provided?
We provide a camouflage suit and snood (head cover).
- Are there changing facilities?
There are male and female changing facilities and toilets
- Are there shower facilities?
There are no shower facilities.
- What about items of value, when we are playing?
Each group is given a basecamp hut, where they assemble to get ready for the game. Each hut has a lockable security box to deposit valuables and the group leader holds the key.
Glasses can be worn under the facemask. If they are not essential you should try not to wear them. If contact lenses could be worn, this would make it more comfortable.
- What type of paintball marker (gun) do we use?
The paintball marker used is a semi-automatic Tippman 98.
- Can I bring my own equipment?
Sorry no we do not allow this at the moment.
Groups are divided into two teams. Each of the five game areas has a different scenario so the winning teams success will depend on what that game involves. Some games involve both teams trying to storm each others camp simultaneously, some are attacking and defending over two legs with the quickest attacking time determining the winner. We try to vary games and make them as interesting and enjoyable as possible.
At all times, our marshals are in control of the game area. Their job is to monitor safety observance, issue instructions to players, adjudicate on 'hits', direct people to the safe zones, motivate teams to move forward and declare the game over.
- How many games will we play?
You will play four to five games, depending on which option you chose. Some of these have two halves.
